This article will show you how to create a price trigger based on tags, so when your customers orders a product, a discount will be automatically applied.

In this article:

Step 1: Create a product tag

a. Go to Products > Product Tags.

b. Click Add New Item.
โ€‹

c. Enter the name of the product tag and add a description (optional).

Step 2: Assign the tag to a product

a. Go to Products > Products.

b. Edit the product you want to attach the tag to by clicking the pencil icon.

c. Scroll down to Product Tags and enter the name of the tag you created; it will pop up as an option that you can select.

d. Click Save.

e. Repeat steps 2a-2d for all the products you want to add your tag to.

Step 3: Create a price trigger

a. Go to Sales > Price Triggers (Beta).

b. Click New Price Trigger.

c. Enter the Name of the price trigger (this will appear on your POS when it is applied to the order) and click the pencil icon to edit the price trigger.

Note: If you have more than one price trigger, you can rearrange them on this page based on their priority. The price trigger with the higher priority will take precedence.

For example, if you have a $5 espresso martinis on Thursdays promotion running alongside your usual happy hour, you can decide which pricing will take precedence by making it the higher priority.

d. Under Product Tags, click ADD NEW RECORD.

e. Select the tag from the drop down list.

f. Under Outcome, select how you want the price trigger to behave.

g. Scroll down to Periods and click New Period.

h. Enter the:

  • Days of the Week

  • Start Time

  • End Time

i. Click Save.

Step 4: Master sync

Perform a Master Sync on the POS.

On the POS

When the tagged product is ordered it will trigger a discount.
