How to View and Export Sales and Tax Information for Year-End Accounting in Abacus POS

Extract your sales information for tax at the end of the financial year

At the end of the financial year, you can view sales and tax data for accounting and tax-reporting purposes through Invoices and Sales Activity reports. This guide explains how to extract your sales information.

View Tax through Invoices

  1. Go to the backend of Abacus, and navigate to Sales > Invoices.

  2. Choose the desired time period by entering the From and To dates. For tax returns, select the financial year range (e.g., from 1st of July to 30th of June)

3. The invoice table will display various details, including Tax included in each invoice.

4. To export the data, click Export and select the desired file format:

  • PDF: Lists each invoice amount.

  • CSV: Lists each invoice amount.

  • Detailed CSV: Lists each product separately for each invoice.

Note: if you see "######" under any column in a CSV file, that means that there is too much text to fit in the column; expand the column to display the text.

View Tax through Sales Activity

  1. Go to Reports > Sales > Sales Activity

  2. For financial year reporting, go to the Range tab and filter the dates (e.g., from 1st of July of the previous year to 30th of June of the current year).

3. Scroll down to view Sales By Date with included tax. Totals are displayed at the bottom of the page.

4. To export detailed sales data, click Export Order Items to download a CSV file of the items ordered within the specified date range.
