Overview

The "POS Only" product status is a powerful new feature that allows you to mark specific products as available exclusively in-store. When a product is set to POS Only, it will be sold out on Online Ordering and Delivery Platforms, but will remain available on the POS, Kiosk, and Table Ordering apps. This gives you control over which products are sold in-store while ensuring seamless customer experience across all platforms.

What Does "POS Only" Mean?

  • POS Only means that the product is available for in-store purchases only.

  • It will not be available for online orders or deliveries.

  • Products marked as "POS Only" will appear as Sold Out on your online ordering platform and delivery services, but will still be available on the POS and in-store ordering apps.

When to Use "POS Only" Status?

This status is perfect for:

  • Limited Stock Items: Products that you want to reserve for in-store customers due to limited stock.

  • In-Store Exclusives: Special promotions or items only available for customers visiting your physical store.

  • Products Not Suitable for Delivery: Certain items that are too fragile or inappropriate for delivery.


How to Mark a Product as "POS Only"

Follow these simple steps to mark a product as "POS Only" on your POS system.

Step 1: Log in to Your iOS POS App

Ensure you're using iOS POS App version 2.11.22 or newer.

Step 2: Navigate to Product Details

  • Go to the Menu section of your POS app.

  • Find the product you want to mark as POS Only.

Step 3: Set Product Status to "POS Only"

  • In the product settings, look for the Product Status option.

  • Select POS Only from the dropdown menu.

  • Save the changes.

Once saved:

  • The product will show as "POS Only" on your in-store POS with a tag.

  • It will be displayed as Sold Out on online ordering and delivery platforms.


What Happens on Different Platforms?

On Your POS (In-Store):

  • The product will appear with a "POS ONLY" tag.

  • You can sell it normally through the POS.

On Your Online Store:

  • The product will show as Sold Out to customers shopping online.

  • This status is automatically synced with your Firestore database to ensure accurate product availability.

On Kiosk/Table Ordering Apps:

  • The product will appear and function as a normal product, with no POS ONLY tag.

1. Can customers still see the product online?
Yes, customers will see the product, but it will be marked as Sold Out, and they will not be able to order it online.

2. Can I change the product status back to available online?
Yes, simply return to the product settings in your POS app, and change the product status from POS Only to an available status. The change will automatically sync with your online store and delivery platforms.

3. Will this feature work on all platforms?
Yes, the POS Only status will apply to your POS (in-store), online store, delivery platforms, and Kiosk/Table Ordering apps. Ensure you are using iOS POS App version 2.11.22 or newer to access this feature.
