How to Troubleshoot Product Visibility Issues on the Self Ordering Kiosk?

Ensuring that your products and their details appear correctly on the kiosk involves several key steps. This guide outlines common issues and their resolutions to help you troubleshoot effectively.

Common Causes of Product Visibility Issues

  1. Backend Configuration: Products may not be properly added to the kiosk menu in the Nomni's backend system.

  2. Menu Assignments: Items might be added to the wrong menu (e.g., POS or online ordering menu instead of the kiosk menu).

  3. Syncing Issues: The kiosk may not have synced correctly with the backend or the Master POS. To ensure it is syncing correctly go to Kiosk Settings by pressing on the top right corner > select connecion > press sync on the Menu Bar

  4. Description Settings: Product descriptions may not display due to incomplete or incorrect settings. Ensure that the product description has been filled in on the product page, and publish the Kiosk Menu every time you make an adjustment to the product.

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting Guide

1. Verify Backend Configuration

  • Ensure the product is added to the backend under the kiosk menu. This is separate from other menus like POS or online ordering menus.

  • Save the changes after adding the product.

2. Check Menu Assignments

  • Confirm that the product is included in the kiosk menu specifically. If it’s only added to another menu, it won’t appear on the kiosk.

  • Publish the kiosk menu after making changes.

3. Perform Syncing Operations

  • Master Sync: Log in to the kiosk and ensure it is connected to the Master POS. Perform a Master sync from the Master POS.

  • Manual Sync: If the product still doesn’t appear, manually sync the kiosk by navigating to Settings > Connection > Sync Now.

4. Check Product Description Settings

  • Verify that the product description is set in the backend.

  • The kiosk will display the Short Description if it’s filled out. If both Short and Full Descriptions are filled, the kiosk will show the Full Description.

  • Ensure the setting to show product descriptions is enabled on the kiosk. Toggle the setting on, apply changes, and restart the app if necessary.

5. Additional Checks

  • Ensure the product is not mistakenly marked as SOLD OUT in the Nomni POS.

FAQs and Additional Tips

  • Why don’t new items appear even after syncing and restarting? Ensure the items are added to the kiosk menu specifically, not just created or added to another menu.

  • Why isn’t the product description showing? Check that the description is set in the backend and that the appropriate settings are enabled on the kiosk.

By following these steps, you can resolve most issues related to product visibility on the kiosk. For persistent problems, consider reaching out to support for further assistance.
