How to make common menu edits: sold out, variants, prices and delivery menus

Quick answers to the most common menu questions on Nomni POS and Nomni Ordering.

Quick answer: Sold out: tap and hold the product on the POS, tap Sold Out (Reset when it's back). Price/variant changes: edit the product in Nomni Console, publish the menu, then Master Sync. Delivery menus need their own sync after the change.

Mark a product sold out on the POS

  1. Tap and Hold down on the product. The Product Details window opens.

  2. Tap SOLD OUT. The product is greyed out.

  3. When it is back in stock, open Product Details again and tap RESET.

You can also track stock automatically using Portions.

Mark a variant (option) sold out

For a Variant to be able to set as sold out, you need to attach a product to the product variant.

Add or edit variants and modifiers

  1. In the backend, go to Products > Product Variants.

  2. Click New Group, or the pencil icon on an existing group.

  3. Enter the name and values, set the options, and save.

  4. Attach the group to the products it applies to, then sync the POS. When configured correctly, product variants ensure that add-ons are grouped under their main items on kitchen/bar prints or KDS. For example:

  • 1 x Cheese Quesadilla

    • extra chicken

  • 1 x Burger This grouping helps staff easily identify which add-ons belong to which main items.

  1. Use filters to locate the desired product variant by:

    • Selection Name (e.g., "Size")

    • Selection Value (e.g., "Large - $2")

    • POS Display Status (active or disabled).

  2. Click the arrow to expand a group and view its variant values.

POS price doesn't match the online or menu price

  • Online ordering and delivery menus are published separately. After changing prices, republish the menu and run a Master Sync.

  • Kiosks need a menu sync after any price or product change.

  • Check for a surcharge or price level affecting one channel only.

New product not showing online or on Uber Eats / DoorDash

  1. Check the product is in the online or delivery menu and the category is visible.

  2. In Delivery > Delivery Menus, open the menu, save and republish it.

  3. Run a Master Sync, then refresh the storefront to check.
