If your Zebra label printer prints blank labels, skips labels, prints across two labels or the light keeps flashing, it usually needs to be calibrated. This makes the printer measure the label size again. Our team fixes most label printer tickets this way.
Before you start
Use the label roll you normally use.
Check the labels are loaded under the guides and the lid clicks shut.
How to calibrate the printer
Make sure the printer is on and the light is solid green.
Press and hold the FEED button.
Watch the light. When it flashes twice, let go straight away.
The printer feeds a few labels while it measures them. Wait until it stops.
Tear off the fed labels.
Send a test order from the POS to print a label.
What you should see: one clean label per item, lined up inside the label edges.
If something goes wrong
The light flashed more than twice
If you held FEED for too long, the printer may print a long list of codes or settings (this is a test mode, not a fault). Turn the printer off, wait 10 seconds, turn it on, and repeat the steps. Let go after exactly two flashes.
Still blank or skipping
Open the lid and check the label roll is the right way up and the labels sit under the sensor.
Close the lid firmly, turn the printer off and on.
Calibrate again.
Test print works but orders don't print labels
This is a settings or network problem, not calibration. Check the printer is on the same Wi-Fi network as the POS and that your products have the label printer location. See "Zebra label printer" and "Printer not printing?".
