Why do my report numbers look wrong?

Why sales, payment or cash figures can differ between reports, and what to check first.

Quick answer: Same dates and filters: compare reports for the same date range, store and filters. Trading day: reports start at your Start Trading Time ( Configuration > Company Profile ), not midnight. Late-night sales may fall in the next day. Then follow the steps below.

Most report differences come from dates, refunds or orders that haven't synced. Check these first.

Checks

  1. Same dates and filters: compare reports for the same date range, store and filters.

  2. Trading day: reports start at your Start Trading Time (Configuration > Company Profile), not midnight. Late-night sales may fall in the next day.

  3. Unsynced orders: if a device was offline, its orders appear once they sync. See How do I sync Unsynced Orders?

  4. Refunds and voids: some reports show gross sales, others net of refunds. Check which you are comparing.

  5. Split payments: one order paid two ways appears under both payment types.

  6. Cash: cash figures depend on the register being opened and closed each day with the counted amount. Check the close-register report and its variance reason.

  7. Settlement vs sales: card settlements arrive later and exclude cash. See Why your sales don't match your settlement.

Reports on the iPad

  • For totals across all your iPads, use Nomni Console.

  • If A59. Enable Consolidate Cash Register is on, Reports are hidden on Slave iPads. Use the Master.

  • There is no "X report" or "Z report" on the iPad. Use the Current Register Summary (like an X read) and the register close report (like a Z read).

  • "Failed to load Sales Summary from Server" means the iPad couldn't reach Nomni. Check the internet and try again.

Still wrong?
