Quick answer: Nomni POS for Android 2.3.27 stops asking for the card type on every card payment. It now asks only if you've turned on A18. Require selection of card type upon credit card transaction, or if a bank surcharge can apply to the order. If your team relies on picking the card type, turn on A18 after you update. This version also fixes loyalty point refunds on online orders, KDS routing after a restart, and table handling between Master and Slave POS.
This article is for Nomni POS managers using Nomni POS on an Android POS terminal.
What changed
The card type prompt only shows when it's needed. When you tap a card payment, the Select Card Type window now shows only if A18 is on, or if bank surcharge is on and at least one card surcharge fits this order. Otherwise the payment goes straight to the terminal. This works the same with an integrated payment terminal or a standalone card machine.
Refunds on online orders paid with loyalty points now work. If a customer paid for an online or app order partly or fully with loyalty points, you can now refund it from the POS and the points go back to the customer. Before, the refund was rejected.
KDS routing is right after a POS restart. When the Master POS restarted, it kept the previous day's workload count for an Expo station, so orders could be sent to the wrong screen. The count now resets once each new day, and a restart on the same day keeps today's count.
Master takeover no longer cancels a Slave's order. When the Master takes over a table, an order that's still being rung up on a Slave is no longer cancelled. A payment taken on the Slave is kept. Table requests are now matched to the right device, and POS devices still on an older version keep working with the Master.
Tables stay occupied when you hold an order on a Slave. With C29 off, holding an order on a Slave POS no longer shows the table as empty (for example 0/4) for a few seconds.
Who should turn on A18
Turn on A18 if your staff need to pick the card type on every card payment. For example:
You use the card type for your own reports or reconciliation.
You set different card surcharges by card type and want staff to always choose one.
If you don't need it, leave A18 off. Card payments will be quicker, and the prompt still shows when a card surcharge can apply.

Troubleshooting
The card type prompt stopped showing
This is expected in 2.3.27 if A18 is off and no card surcharge applies to the order.
If you want the prompt on every card payment, turn on A18 (see above).
If you expected a surcharge, check bank surcharge is on and your card surcharges are set up in Nomni Console under Sales > Surcharge.
Close and reopen Nomni POS so it syncs.
The card type prompt still shows when A18 is off
A bank surcharge can apply to this order, so the POS needs the card type to work out the surcharge. This is expected.
