The Auto Selection feature in ABACUS allows all product variant values to be pre-selected by default when a product is added to an order. This is especially useful for situations like banquets or highly customizable dishes, where multiple options should be automatically chosen, and the user can manually deselect them if necessary.
When to Use Auto Selection
Banquets: In banquet-style dining, the banquet itself is a product, and each dish served as part of the banquet can be a product variant. With Auto Selection, all dishes in the banquet will be selected with a single tap, simplifying the order process.
Highly Customizable Dishes: For dishes with many default ingredients, Auto Selection ensures all ingredients are selected by default, and the customer can remove any they don’t want.
How to Enable Auto Selection for Product Variants
Go to the Backend: Log into the ABACUS backend system.
Navigate to Products: Go to Products > Product Variants.
Edit Product Variant Group: Click the pencil icon next to the product variant group you want to enable auto selection for (e.g., banquet dishes or customizable ingredients).
Tick "Auto Selection": In the product variant group details, tick the Auto Selection checkbox to enable this feature.
Save Changes: Make sure to save your changes.
How Auto Selection Works on the POS
Once Auto Selection is enabled, when the product is added to an order:
All variant values (e.g., dishes in a banquet or ingredients in a customizable dish) will be automatically selected by default.
Users can then manually deselect any variants they do not want.
