You may have one of two issues:
Cash Drawer keeps opening (when you don't want it to)
Cash Drawer won't open (when you do want it to)
This article will show you how to resolve either of these issues.
Cash Drawer keeps opening
Stop automatic opening with orders
If your POS printer prints out order dockets as well as receipts, it may prompt the cash drawer to open when an order has been received.
To prevent this:
Tap the printer icon
Go into your printer settings
Set the Number of Buzzes as 0
Now, it will print order dockets without opening the cash drawer. It will still open when you're finalising the transaction.
Stop automatic opening with credit transaction
Go to Settings > General > Printers/Receipts
Disable setting C6. Open Cash Drawer Upon Credit Transaction
Stop automatic opening with cash transaction
Go to Settings > General > Printers/Receipts
Disable setting C7. Open Cash Drawer Upon Cash Transaction
Cash Drawer won't open
If your cash drawer does not open, check the following:
Go to Settings > System and ensure that C6. Open Cash Drawer Upon Credit Transaction is enabled (if desired)
Ensure that C7. Open Cash Drawer Upon Cash Transaction is enabled (if desired)
3. Ensure that the POS printer location is selected (see here)
4. Perform a test print to ensure that you have connection
If a test print does not work, you may be connected to the wrong network. Go to the iPad Settings and ensure that you are connected to AbacusPOS or AbacusPOS_5G.
