Before you start

  • Who: Staff or managers closing the day.

  • Device: Nomni POS on iPad.

  • Permissions and settings: All orders should be settled first. If A11 is on, you can't close with unsettled orders.

Close the register

  1. Settle or clear any open orders.

  2. Go to the top-bar menu > POS Register.

  3. Tap CLOSE REGISTER.

  4. Count each note and coin and enter how many of each. This screen shows when B10 (Show Detailed Cash Till) is on.

  5. Tap FINALISE.

You should see Actual, Expected and Variance.

Explain a variance

  1. If actual and expected don't match, enter a reason.

  2. Print the close-of-register report if needed.

Blind close for staff

If B12. Hide Expected Amount When Closing Register is on, staff who aren't managers don't see expected or variance amounts. They just count and finalise.

If something goes wrong

  • Unable to Close Register: settle or clear the open orders, then try again.

  • Big variance: recount the drawer. Check pay ins, pay outs and refunds for the day.
