When you set up an online gift card in Nomni Console, there are two amounts. Price is what the customer pays. Credit is the balance loaded onto the gift card. They can be the same, or you can make Credit higher as a bonus (for example pay $50, get $55).

Before you start

  • You need a Nomni Console login with access to Online Ordering.

  • The Gift Card payment method must be turned on for your POS so staff can redeem cards.

How to add a gift card

  1. Log in to Nomni Console and open Online Gift Card.

  2. Under Menu, click Add.

  3. Enter a Name and a Short Description.

  4. Enter the Price: what the customer pays.

  5. Enter the Credit: the balance the customer gets.

  6. Save.

What you should see: the gift card in the list with its Price and Credit, and on your gift card website.

How to test it

  1. Buy a gift card on your gift card website.

  2. Check the gift card code arrives by email.

  3. On the POS, add items to an order and choose Gift Card as the payment method.

  4. Scan or enter the gift card code to pay.

What you should see: the order is paid and the card balance goes down by the order total.

If something goes wrong

The card has the wrong balance

Check the Credit amount, not the Price. Changing it only affects cards bought after you save.

"Invalid Name or Price"

Enter a name and a Price above $0.

Gift card won't scan on the POS

See "Voucher or gift card not scanning or redeeming on Nomni POS".
