Quick answer: In Nomni Console, open Kiosk Setting (app.abacus.co/CloudSetting/KioskSetting) > GENERAL SETTINGS. Tick Disable Eat-In or Disable Takeaway, then click Save General Settings. If only one order type is left, the kiosk skips the "How would you like to eat?" screen, unless Prompt for only one order type available is on in the kiosk’s Settings > General.
This article is for the Nomni Kiosk app on Android (version 1.0.80).
What customers see
After Tap to Start, the kiosk asks "How would you like to eat?" with DINE IN and TAKEAWAY. Customers can tap Back to return to the start screen. If nobody taps anything for about 30 seconds, the kiosk goes back to the start screen.
If you only allow one order type, the other option shows "Available for Dine-in only" or "Available for Takeaway only", and the customer taps Continue.
Allow only Dine In or only Takeaway
Log in to Nomni Console and go to app.abacus.co/CloudSetting/KioskSetting (the Kiosk Setting page).
Click the GENERAL SETTINGS tab.
Tick Disable Takeaway to allow Dine In only, or tick Disable Eat-In to allow Takeaway only. Don’t tick both.
Click Save General Settings.
What you should see: "Saved Successfully". The kiosk picks up the change by itself while it’s online and signed in.
Skip the question when there’s only one order type
By default the kiosk still shows the order type screen when only one type is allowed. To skip it and go straight to the menu:
On the kiosk, open the settings (tap the top-left corner of the Tap to Start screen and enter your password, then tap Settings).
Tap General.
Find Prompt for only one order type available (use Search Settings) and turn it off.
What you should see: customers go straight to the menu after Tap to Start, and the order uses the one order type you allow.
Ask for a table number, buzzer number or name
These settings are in the kiosk’s Settings > General. Each one is off by default.
Setting | What customers see |
Enable keyboard enter table number for Eat-In order type | After DINE IN, the kiosk asks for a table or buzzer number (for example "Grab a buzzer and key its number"). |
Enable keyboard enter table number for Takeaway order type | After TAKEAWAY, the kiosk asks for a number. |
Ask for customer name for takeaway orders | After TAKEAWAY, the kiosk asks for the customer’s name ("Enter Customer Name"). |
In Nomni Console, Table number/buzer message (Kiosk Setting > APPEARANCE SETTINGS > UI Settings) changes the message on the number screen.
If something goes wrong
The kiosk still shows both options
Check that the kiosk is online. It picks up Console changes only while it’s connected and signed in.
Restart the Nomni Kiosk app.
Check you clicked Save General Settings and saw "Saved Successfully".
The kiosk skips the screen but I want customers to see it
Turn on Prompt for only one order type available in the kiosk’s Settings > General.
