Why does Nomni POS Grocery show the wrong weight from my CAS scale?

Quick answer: Nomni POS Grocery for Android could read the weight from a CAS scale incorrectly, so weighed items showed the wrong weight. Version 2.0.2 (from 28 October 2026) fixes how the POS reads the scale's weight. Update the Nomni POS Grocery app to 2.0.2 or later, then weigh an item to check.

This article is for managers and staff using Nomni POS Grocery on an Android POS terminal with a CAS scale.

How do I fix the wrong weight?

  1. Update the Nomni POS Grocery app on the POS terminal to version 2.0.2 or later. If you're not sure how to update it, contact us and we'll help.

  2. Open the app and go to Settings > Scale Settings. Check your CAS scale (CAS PD-II or CAS PND) is selected.

  3. Put an item of known weight on the scale and ring up a product sold by weight.

What you should see: The weight on the item matches the weight on the scale's own display.

What if the weight is still wrong?

  • The weight still doesn't match: check the scale reads zero with nothing on it, and that any container weight (tare) is set correctly.

  • The POS says "Scale is disconnected": check the cable between the scale and the terminal, and that the right scale is chosen in Settings > Scale Settings.

  • The weight was wrong on past sales: the update fixes new weighings only. Contact us if you need help with earlier sales.
