Why the "order ready" email goes out when the kitchen marks it ready, not at pickup time

When the order ready email is sent, and how to stop early emails for scheduled orders

Quick answer: The "order ready" email goes out as soon as the order is marked Ready, for example when the kitchen bumps it on the KDS. It isn't timed to the customer's pickup time. To avoid early emails, mark scheduled orders Ready closer to pickup, or turn the email off.

Steps

  • To stop early "ready" emails for scheduled orders: ask the kitchen to mark future orders Ready only when they're actually ready, close to the pickup time.

  • To turn the email off: in Nomni Console, open the online store settings and untick Order is ready for pickup/delivery. Save.

Good to know

This setting doesn't change order confirmation emails.
