About

Normally, if you want to refund an order, you'd go into the Order History, find the order, and then refund it.

However, if you are in a particularly fast-paced environment, you can quickly deduct from your sales as an unofficial "refund". For example, you may have a very high-paced sushi train, where it would seriously disrupt the workflow to perform a refund properly.

NOTE: Refunds are always the proper method of reversing a transaction. Negative transactions will not show in your reporting as proper refunds, and they will not "undo" any previous transactions. They are a quick shortcut to deduct from your sales total.

Performing a negative transaction

1. Enable setting Z8. ENABLE NEGATIVE QUANTITY on Nomni Console

2. On your POS, save changes from server

3. Press on the number next to the product name (the quantity field)

4. Long-press on the decimal point

5. A popup will appear asking you if you wish to make a negative transaction. You may need to enter a Manager's PIN

6. The quantity you select will be negative, and the price will also be negative.

7. Finalise the transaction. Note: negative transactions can only be paid by cash.

Reporting

On your Invoices page, you will see a negative number under the Sales column for any negative transaction.

A negative transaction will deduct the sale of a product in all your reports. E.g. If you had originally sold 3 sushi rolls, then made a negative transaction for 1 sushi roll, your report will say that you sold only 2 sushi rolls.

Note: negative transactions are not counted as refunds.
