Your Nomni sales total and the money that lands in your bank are often different. Most of the time nothing is missing. The figures are counted in different places, at different times. Work through the checks below in order.
Before you start
Who: Owners and managers. Device: Nomni Console in a web browser. Permissions: Your user role needs access to Reports.
1. Know who pays you for each payment type
Online orders paid by card (Stripe): paid into your bank by Nomni through Stripe, minus fees.
Card payments on your EFTPOS terminal: paid by your bank or terminal provider (for example Tyro), not by Nomni. Check their settlement report.
Cash, gift cards, vouchers and credit accounts: never go through a settlement. They are in your sales, but not in any deposit.
Compare like with like: online sales with Stripe payouts, card sales with your terminal settlement.
2. Check your online payouts
Log in to Nomni Console and open Online Ordering.
Click the Stripe Settlement tab.
Pick the dates and click Search, or Export to download.
Click Export Detail on a payout to see every order inside it.
Match each payout to one deposit in your bank account.
What you should see: each payout matches one bank deposit. A payout is a batch of orders minus fees, so it won't equal one day's online sales. See When your online payouts arrive.
3. Check your terminal card payments
Go to Reports > Register > Tender Report and run it for the day.
Compare the card total with your terminal provider's settlement report for the same day.
4. Look for the usual reasons the totals differ
Fees: payouts and settlements arrive with fees taken off. Your Nomni sales show the full amount.
Surcharges: card surcharges added by the terminal may or may not be on your Nomni invoices. For Tyro, see Tyro - Exclude Surcharges.
Tips: card tips are paid with the card settlement. Check whether the report you are using includes tips. For example, Total Payment Amount in the Daily Sales Report email includes tips.
Refunds: a refund can come out of a later payout or settlement than the original sale.
Different day cut-offs: Nomni reports start the day at your Start Trading Time, not midnight. Your bank or terminal provider uses its own cut-off. Late-night sales can land on different days. See Why dates differ across POS, Console and payout reports.
Split payments: one order paid partly by card and partly by cash only settles the card part. See How split payments are shown in reporting.
Orders still on the iPad: run a Master Sync on the POS, then run the report again.
If something goes wrong
"No items to display" in Stripe Settlement: there was no payout on that date. Try the next few days.
A card payment is on your terminal but not in Nomni: see Check a payment that is missing.
