1. Introduction

OU Blue currently supports a fixed (flat) delivery fee for all orders. However, many restaurants have requested more flexible options—specifically, the ability to charge different delivery fees based on the order total. This new feature meets that need by allowing tiered delivery fees.

2. Objective

With this update, restaurants can:

  • Define multiple order value ranges

  • Assign a specific delivery fee to each range

  • Offer free delivery for orders above a chosen threshold

3. Example Setup

Here’s an example of how tiered delivery fees can be set:

  • Orders below $50: Delivery fee is $9

  • Orders between $50 and $80: Delivery fee is $5

  • Orders above $80: Free delivery

4. How to Set It Up

Follow these steps to configure tiered delivery fees in your Abacus backend:

4.1 Go to the Abacus backend:
👉 app.abacus.co

4.2 Navigate to:
POS > Online Ordering > Configuration

4.3 Scroll down to the Delivery Fees section.

4.4 Choose Option 1: Flat Fee

4.5 Enable the checkbox for ‘Add Multiple Fee Limits’

4.6 Click Add New Delivery Fee

4.7 For each fee tier:

  • Set the Spending Limit

  • Set the corresponding Delivery Fee

4.8 Click Save Changes

4.9 Repeat steps 4.6–4.8 to add more tiers as needed

5. Example Configuration Walkthrough

To recreate the example in Step 3, input the following tiers:

Spending Limit

Delivery Fee

$50

$9

$80

$5

$5000

$0 (Free)

How it works:

  • Orders between $0 and $50$9 delivery fee

  • Orders between $50 and $80$5 delivery fee
