Understanding and Managing Price Levels in Abacus POS
Price levels in Abacus POS are a powerful feature that allows businesses to set multiple pricing tiers for their products or product variants. This functionality is particularly useful for managing pricing across different contexts, such as delivery platforms, site groups, or specific venues.
What Are Price Levels?
Price levels refer to specific pricing tiers that can be assigned to products or product variants. These tiers enable businesses to set different prices for the same item depending on the context. For example:
Different prices for various delivery platforms (e.g., Uber Eats, DoorDash, etc.)
Customized pricing for specific site groups or regions
There are two types of price levels:
Product Price Levels: Applied to entire products.
Variant Price Levels: Applied to specific product variants.
Key Features and Configuration
Maximum Price Levels: Abacus POS supports up to 15 different price levels.
Default Behavior: If a price level cell is left blank, the system automatically applies the HQ (Headquarters) price set in the backend.
Assignment: Price levels can be assigned to site groups, delivery platforms, or other contexts to ensure tailored pricing.
How to Create and Manage Price Levels
Creation: Price levels are created in the BI module of Abacus POS.
Assignment: Once created, assign the appropriate price level in the Product Pricing Level area of the Abacus POS backend.
Additional Notes
Bulk import of price levels is not supported.
EMS-related links for price levels are accessible only from HQ, except for enabling EMS, which can be done at HQ or child sites.
By leveraging price levels, businesses can efficiently manage pricing across multiple channels and contexts, ensuring flexibility and consistency.
