Nomni POS for iPad 2.11.90: what's changed and how to update

How to update Nomni POS on iPad to 2.11.90 and what's fixed

Nomni POS 2.11.90 for iPad makes syncing safer and the app more stable. It stops paid orders reopening and stops finished orders printing again in the kitchen. There are no new settings to turn on.

What changed

  • Settings and menu are safe during a sync. An interrupted or incomplete sync no longer clears settings, menu, tax, promotions, suppliers or products.

  • Paid orders stay paid. A paid order no longer comes back as held after a restart, or when another iPad sends an old copy.

  • Fewer stale tables. Tapping a table that's already paid now shows the latest table instead of starting a new order on it.

  • No repeat kitchen dockets. Finished orders are no longer reprinted when the master iPad recovers from a freeze.

  • Fewer freezes. The table map, Cash Register and reservations are much less likely to freeze.

  • Switched-off iPads are skipped. The master stops waiting for iPads that are off. They reconnect by themselves when switched on.

  • Discounts stay on open orders. An open order keeps its promotion or coupon even if it's removed in Nomni Console. New orders don't get it.

  • Archived or deleted coupons are hidden and can't be applied.

  • Update syncs wait. The full sync after an update waits until the order on screen is finished.

How to update

  1. Finish or hold any open order on the iPad.

  2. Open the App Store and search for Nomni POS.

  3. Tap Update.

  4. Repeat on every iPad, starting with the master. All iPads must run the same version.

  5. Open Nomni POS and let it finish syncing before you take orders.

Check the version

  1. In Nomni POS, open Settings > System.

  2. Check the version reads 2.11.90 on every iPad.

Known issues in this version

  • Held orders can take 15 to 20 seconds to load on a non-master iPad ("Retrieving Orders…"), especially during a large sync. A fix is planned.

  • Tapping a table straight after it's paid can briefly show "Table overridden". Wait a few seconds and tap it again.

If something goes wrong

An iPad shows a different menu or settings after updating

  1. Check every iPad shows 2.11.90 in Settings > System.

  2. Update any iPad that's behind.

  3. Close and reopen Nomni POS on that iPad and let it sync.

An iPad isn't receiving orders from the master

  1. Check the iPad is switched on and on the venue Wi-Fi.

  2. Close and reopen Nomni POS. It reconnects to the master by itself.

  3. If it still doesn't connect, contact us with the names of the master and the affected iPad.

"Untrusted Enterprise Developer" after updating

This only affects venues on a special pre-release build. Follow How can I open the app if it says "Untrusted Enterprise Developer"? in our help centre.
