Get API access for Nomni POS: API key and webhooks

Where the API key and webhooks are in Nomni Console, who can see them, and how to request access.

The Nomni POS API lets your own systems, such as a reporting dashboard, read your data. Webhooks send your systems a message when something happens, such as a new sale.

Is API access on for your account?

The API page in Nomni Console add-ons only shows for accounts where API access is turned on, and only for logins with access to it. If you can't see it, ask your account manager or message us. Tell us your venue or company name and what you want to connect. Your account manager will confirm the options and whether there's a cost.

Generate your API key

  1. In Nomni Console, open the API page in add-ons.

  2. Click Generate Key.

  3. Keep the key private. Anyone with it can read your data.

Generating a new key replaces the old one. Anything still using the old key stops working until you update it with the new key.

Webhooks

On the same page you can enter a URL for each webhook topic. Nomni sends an HTTP POST to that URL when the event happens. You can also add custom HTTP headers. The topics are:

  • New Customer

  • New Sales (Basic) and New Sales (Detailed)

  • Update Sales (Basic) and Update Sales (Detailed)

  • Store Operation Status

  • Product Info (Online Store)

  • Stock Quantity

API documentation

Developers can find the endpoints and examples at api.abacus.co/doc/api-doc.html.
