Quick answer: Nomni Console has six new settings for your online store: opening hours for each order type, a Room Service order type, extra prep time by cart value, a customer-facing name for variant groups, Reorder and AI Recommendations switches, and order email copies for your team.

You need a Nomni Console login that can see POS > Online Ordering.

1. Opening hours for each order type

You can now give Delivery, Pick Up, Eat In and Room Service their own weekly hours. These hours must fit inside your store hours.

  1. In Nomni Console, go to Online Ordering > Opening Hours.

  2. Under Hours scope, choose Custom hours per order type. Your Store hours stay at the top.

  3. Under Order type hours, open each tab: Delivery, Pick Up, Eat In and Room Service. If a tab has no hours yet, it starts with a copy of your store hours.

  4. Change the times for each order type. Click Add Hour to add a second time slot on the same day.

  5. Click Save.

What you should see: the page saves with no error. To go back to one set of hours for everything, choose Store hours (default) and save.

2. Room Service order type

  1. In the top bar click POS, then go to Online Ordering > Configuration.

  2. Scroll to Order Types.

  3. Tick Room Service.

  4. Optional: in Room Service Text (optional), type the name customers should see, for example "In-room dining".

  5. Click Save.

What you should see: Room Service is offered as an order type on your online store, using your text if you entered one.

3. Extra prep time by cart value

Large orders take longer to make. You can now add extra minutes to the prep time when the cart is worth more. This works for Delivery, Pick Up and Eat In.

  1. Go to Online Ordering > Configuration and scroll to Order Accepting Behaviour.

  2. Under Prep time adjustment, open the tab for the order type: Delivery, Pick Up or Eat In.

  3. In the first row, enter a Minimum Amount, a Maximum Amount and the Additional Time (mins). Leave Maximum Amount blank for "No maximum".

  4. Click Add range to add another row. Click the minus button to remove a row.

  5. Click Save.

For example, 0 to 100 adds 5 minutes and 100 with no maximum adds 15 minutes. The extra minutes are added on top of your normal prep time for that order type.

  • Amounts can have up to 2 decimal places. The minimum can be 0.

  • Each Maximum Amount must be more than its Minimum Amount.

  • Only the last range can have no maximum.

  • Ranges can't overlap. A new range can start at the previous range's maximum.

  • Additional minutes must be a whole number of 1 or more.

4. A customer-facing name for variant groups

A variant group can now have a Display Label. Customers see it on online ordering. Your POS and back end keep using the group's Name.

  1. In Nomni Console, open Products and open the variant group.

  2. In Display Label, type what customers should see, for example "Choose your milk". If you leave it blank, customers see the Name.

  3. If your store uses more than one language, choose a language from the Language list and type the label for that language.

  4. Click Save, then publish your menu.

5. Reorder and AI Recommendations

You can turn each of these on or off on its own.

  1. Go to Online Ordering > Configuration and scroll to Ordering Suggestions.

  2. Tick Reorder to let customers see and reorder items from their previous orders.

  3. Tick AI Recommendations to show AI-driven product suggestions to customers.

  4. Click Save.

6. Copies of order emails for your team

Your store can now get a copy of the order confirmation email when an order is accepted.

  1. Go to Online Ordering > Configuration and scroll to Merchant Communication.

  2. Tick Send an email to the merchant when order is accepted.

  3. In Reporting Email, enter the main address that should get the copies. This is required when the box above is ticked.

  4. Optional: in Reporting CC and Reporting BCC, enter up to 5 addresses each, separated by commas.

  5. Optional: in Email Address (Sender), enter the address customer emails should come from. If you leave it blank, they come from our no-reply address.

  6. Click Save.

What you should see: the page saves. The next accepted online order sends a copy to the Reporting Email address.

If something goes wrong

"... is outside store hours" or "... hours cannot be set because the store is closed"

An order type's hours go past your store hours, or you set hours on a day the store is closed. Change the order type hours so they sit inside the Store hours for that day, or open the store on that day first.

"... start time must be earlier than end time"

Check the time slot named in the message. The closing time must be after the opening time.

Prep time adjustment won't save

  • "Please complete all fields in this adjustment row." Fill in Minimum Amount and Additional Time (mins), or remove the row.

  • "Only the final range for this order type can have an empty maximum amount." Add a Maximum Amount to every range except the highest one.

  • "... cart-value ranges must not overlap." Make each range start at or after the previous range's maximum.

  • "Maximum amount must be greater than the minimum amount and greater than zero." Make the maximum bigger than the minimum.

"Merchant Email is required when order confirmation emails to the merchant are enabled."

Enter an address in Reporting Email, or untick Send an email to the merchant when order is accepted.

"Reporting CC accepts a maximum of 5 email addresses."

Remove addresses until there are 5 or fewer. The same limit applies to Reporting BCC. If the message says an address is invalid, check it for typos and spaces.

Customers still see the old variant group name

Publish your menu again, then refresh your online store.
