Table Ordering Staff PIN

You can prevent accidental access to the settings by forcing users to enter a Staff Verification PIN before going to the Settings page.

To create a Table Ordering Staff Verification PIN:

  1. On the backend, go to POS Settings > Table Ordering Settings > Configuration

  2. Under Configuration > Staff Verification, enter a 4-digit PIN

  3. Click Save

  4. On the Master POS, do a Master Sync then select Notify Clients when prompted

Note:

  • The Table Ordering Staff Verification PIN is different to the PIN that each staff member may have attributed individually for the POS

  • The Staff Verification PIN will always be the PIN that you have created in the backend

  • If you change the Staff Verification PIN on the individual Table Ordering apps, that Staff Verification PIN will only apply to that specific iPad and it will be reset to the backend Staff Verification PIN whenever there is a Master Sync

PIN to send order

If you have a limited number of iPads, you may not have them situated at each table separately. Instead, your wait staff might give the iPad to a customer, then return when they have added all their orders to the cart. Then, the staff member will enter the Staff Verification PIN to send the order. This ensures that orders are not sent accidentally or without the staff first reviewing the order.

To enforce the Staff Verification PIN to be entered for every order:

  1. On the backend, go to POS Settings > Table Ordering Settings > Configuration

  2. Make sure that you have a Staff Verification PIN

  3. Tick the checkbox for Add Order to Cart

  4. A new setting will appear: Enter Staff PIN To Send Order. Tick this checkbox.

  5. Click Save

  6. On the Master POS, do a Master Sync then select Notify Clients when prompted

Remove PIN

To remove the Table Ordering Staff Verification PIN:

  1. On the backend, go to POS Settings > Table Ordering Settings > Configuration

  2. Under Configuration > Staff Verification, clear the PIN

  3. Click Save

  4. On the Master POS, do a Master Sync then select Notify Clients when prompted
