What is Fast Pay in ABACUS POS (iPad)?
In fast-paced business environments, especially in hospitality and retail, speed and efficiency are crucial. Fast Pay is a convenient feature within the ABACUS POS system that allows businesses to quickly process cash payments without needing to navigate through the standard payment interface.
When the Fast Pay button is used, the system instantly records the payment as a cash transaction and opens the cash drawer. This eliminates the need to go through the usual Payment Page, making it ideal for situations where time is of the essence.
How Fast Pay Works
By pressing the Fast Pay button, the following happens:
The exact cash payment is automatically recorded in the system.
The cash drawer opens immediately to accept the payment.
The transaction is completed without showing the detailed Payment Page that typically appears when closing a sale.
This streamlined process reduces the number of steps involved, allowing staff to serve customers more quickly.
Enabling Fast Pay on ABACUS POS
To enable the Fast Pay feature, follow these steps:
Go to Settings > System on your ABACUS POS.
Find and enable A35. ENABLE FAST PAY BUTTON.
Once enabled, the Fast Pay button will appear as a green lightning bolt icon on the POS screen during the checkout process.
Placing a Fast Pay Order
After you’ve enabled Fast Pay, placing a fast cash payment order is straightforward:
Enter the customer’s order as usual.
Tap the green lightning bolt icon located on the order screen.
The payment will be recorded instantly, and the cash drawer will open to accept the cash payment.
There is no need to manually input the payment amount or navigate through the detailed payment options, making the process both fast and efficient.
