Use this guide when long orders run off the bottom of the screen, or items added later get lost in the original docket. These settings are on Nomni KDS for Android. Split docket to fit card needs version 2.0.17 or later.
Before you start
Who: a kitchen manager. If Require Manager Access to Modify Settings is on, you need the manager PIN.
All these settings are in Settings > General, under Order Display Settings. Change them on each screen.
Keep tall orders on screen: Split docket to fit card
Turn on Split docket to fit card.
What you should see: a tall order is split across cards so every item stays on screen. Tapping Done on a card completes only the items on that card. The order closes when all its cards are done.
Separate items added later: Split order docket by time
Turn on Split order docket by time.
What you should see: items sent to the kitchen at different times, for example a second round of drinks, show as separate dockets.
Group by course
Turn on Display Meal Course to group items by their meal course on the docket.
Show extras as their own items
Split Extra Product As Item: extras that are products show as separate items in product grouping.
Display Ingredients as Product: extras' ingredients show as separate items in product grouping.
Use Product Colour For Extras (2.0.17): extras that are products use their own KDS colour.
Other ways to fit more on screen
Enable docket expand view: tap a docket to open it full size.
Display Large Font For Docket, or change Docket Font Size, to suit your screen.
Change rows and columns in Screen Layout. See KDS Layout and Appearance.
If something goes wrong
Done only cleared part of the order: this is expected with Split docket to fit card. Complete the other cards for the same order.
