Use this guide when a diner wants to pay with their Nomni Loyalty balance or Brandollars and Nomni POS won't redeem it, or shows the wrong balance.
How redemption works
The diner opens the Nomni Loyalty app and shows their QR code. Staff scan it on Nomni POS to find the diner and see what they can spend.
Brandollars are credit a diner bought for your venue or brand. They can only be spent at the venues they were bought for.
Your own loyalty program (points or dollars you set up in Nomni Console) is separate from Nomni Loyalty, and works through Nomni POS memberships.
Redeeming without scanning the QR code
Normally staff must scan the diner's QR code before they can redeem Brandollars. Your business can choose to allow redeeming without the scan. Staff can then find the diner by searching on the POS and redeem straight away.
The setting applies to your whole business (HQ), so every store under it gets it.
It can only be turned on once your Nomni Loyalty integration is active.
Nomni POS for Android supports it from version 2.3.25.
To turn it on, contact us. Tell us your business name and HQ.
With the setting on, Nomni POS checks the diner's balance at your branch before charging. If that check fails, the redemption is stopped instead of showing a balance of 0. Try again, or ask the diner to show their QR code.
Common problems
The QR code won't scan. Ask the diner to close and reopen the QR code in the app, and to turn up their screen brightness. Check they're signed in to the right account.
“Sorry, we are not able to find your membership”: the POS couldn't find the diner. Search with their mobile number in full, or ask them to show their QR code.
“Membership is required to redeem this coupon”: that coupon is for members only. Find or add the diner's membership on the order first.
Only part of the bill should come off the balance. On Nomni POS for Android 2.3.11 and later, enter the amount on the numpad before choosing point redemption. Only that amount is redeemed. Older versions took the full amount due.
The balance looks wrong after a refund. A wrong Brandollar balance after a partial refund of a split payment was fixed in Nomni POS for Android 2.3.12. Update the POS. If the balance still looks wrong, contact us with the invoice number.
Nomni Console shows a balance of 0 for a customer. If the balance can't be loaded, the customer list shows 0 rather than an old figure. Check the balance in the diner's app before telling them it's empty.
