Quick answer: Nomni POS 2.11.91 for iPad fixes one issue: the lock screen could go missing after the POS logged staff out for being idle, so staff could pick a user without entering a PIN. Now staff always have to enter their PIN. There are no new settings to turn on.

This article is for venues using Nomni POS on iPad.

Before you start

  • Finish or hold any open order on the iPad.

  • Update every iPad, starting with the Master. All iPads must run the same version.

What changed

  • Lock screen stays on after an idle logout. Before, if the POS logged a staff member out for being idle while the app was in the background, the lock screen could disappear and the staff list showed without asking for a PIN. Now the lock screen stays, and staff must enter their PIN to log in.

How to update

  1. Finish or hold any open order on the iPad.

  2. Open the App Store and search for Nomni POS.

  3. Tap Update.

  4. Repeat on every iPad, starting with the Master.

  5. Open Nomni POS and let it finish syncing before you take orders.

What you should see: once the sync finishes, your menu, settings and open orders are all there.

Check the version

  1. In Nomni POS, open Settings > System.

  2. Check the version reads 2.11.91 on every iPad.

When it's working: Every iPad shows 2.11.91. When the POS logs someone out for being idle, the lock screen shows and asks for a PIN.

If something goes wrong

The App Store shows Open, not Update

  • If Nomni Support gave you a test version (through TestFlight), the iPad may already be on 2.11.91. Check Settings > System.

  • Don't delete the app to reinstall it. You could lose data stored on the iPad. Contact us and we'll help you move to the App Store version.

Staff still see the user list without a PIN

  • Check the iPad shows 2.11.91.

  • Check A8. Use Lock Screen is on in your system settings.

  • If it still happens, contact us with the iPad's name, the time it happened and the staff member's role.

An iPad shows a different menu or settings after updating

  • Check every iPad shows 2.11.91 in Settings > System, and update any iPad that's behind.

  • Close and reopen Nomni POS on that iPad and let it sync.
