Use Bulk Import to add or change lots of information at once, for example new products, price changes or product variants, instead of editing items one by one. You can do this yourself in Nomni Console.

Before you start

  • Who: a Nomni Console user whose role can edit products.

  • Device: Nomni Console in a web browser on a computer.

  • Tip: export your current product list first so you have a backup of your prices.

Import a CSV file

  1. Go to POS > POS Settings > Bulk Import.

  2. Under Import, choose what you are importing, for example Products or Product Variants.

  3. Click Download a sample CSV file to get the right template.

  4. Fill in the template. Keep the column headings exactly as they are and save it as .csv, not .xlsx.

  5. Click Select CSV/XLSX File and choose your file.

  6. Click Import.

  7. Add any new products to your menu and click Publish.

  8. On your Master POS, run a Master Sync.

What you should see: your new or changed products in Products > Products, and on the POS after the Master Sync.

Exported files can use a different layout from import files. Always start from the sample template.

Bulk import product images

  1. Name each image with its product code, for example CAP01.jpg. Images must be .jpg or .png, 861 × 600 px.

  2. Put all the images in one .zip file, with no folders inside it.

  3. Go to POS Settings > Bulk Import.

  4. Under Product Images, click SELECT FILES and upload the zip file.

  5. Run a Menu Sync on your Nomni POS.

What you should see: the images on your product buttons after the sync.

For variant images, upload the zip under Product Variant Group Images. Image names must match the Value Images column of your product variants CSV exactly, including .jpg or .png.

If something goes wrong

  • The import failed: Nomni Console downloads a DataNotImport CSV file. It lists the Row, Field and Reason for each problem. Row 1 is the first row under the headings. Fix those rows and import again.

  • Prices didn't change on the POS: check you published the menu, then run a Master Sync. See Price changed but the POS or online store still shows the old one.

  • You are not sure about a column: compare it with the sample file, or send us the file and we will check it before you import.
