Overview

We’re excited to roll out a new Split Opening Hours feature for OU Blue, allowing merchants to set multiple opening and closing times per day for their online store.

Previously, only one opening and closing time could be set each day. This was limiting for businesses with split shifts or midday breaks. With this new feature, restaurants and similar businesses can now configure multiple time slots to match their actual operating hours more accurately.


Who Is This Feature For?

This feature is designed for:

  • ✅ Merchants using OU Blue (Online Ordering) only.


Who Should NOT Use This Feature?

Avoid using this feature if:

  • ❌ You only use Mobile Apps for ordering.

  • ❌ You use both Mobile Apps and Online Ordering.


Feature Highlights

1. Backend Enhancements

  • Configure multiple opening and closing times for each day.

  • Each day can have at least two or more time slots.

  • The system prevents overlapping time entries for accuracy.

2. User Interface Updates

  • A redesigned interface allows easy entry, editing, and deletion of time slots.

  • Built-in validation ensures that entries do not conflict or overlap.


Step-by-Step Setup Guide

Step 1: Access Opening Hours Settings

  1. Log in to your Abacus account:
    🔗 https://app.abacus.co

  2. Go to:
    POS > Online Ordering > Opening Hours


Step 2: Add Multiple Time Slots

  1. Select the day you want to configure.

  2. Enter your first opening and closing time.

  3. Click Add Hour to insert another time slot.

  4. Repeat this step to add more slots as needed for that day.


Step 3: Check for Valid Entries

  1. Ensure no time slots overlap—the system will automatically prevent this.

  2. Double-check that all entries reflect your actual operating hours.


Step 4: Save Your Changes

  1. Once all slots are entered correctly, click Save to apply your updates.


Step 5: Verify on the Online Store

  1. Visit your online storefront to ensure hours display correctly.

  2. If something looks off, go back to
    Online Ordering > Opening Hours and make necessary adjustments.
