Slave iPad shows a different table map, or its sales are missing from end of day

Fix a Slave table map that does not match the Master, and find Slave sales missing from the register or end-of-day report.

Use this guide when a Slave iPad (a second POS or waiter pad) shows different tables from the Master, or when sales taken on a Slave don't appear in your end-of-day figures. If the Slave can't connect to the Master at all, start with Slave iPad not connecting to the Master: troubleshooting.

The table map on the Slave doesn't match the Master

Nomni Console holds your table map. Each iPad keeps its own copy.

  1. Refresh the table map on the Slave. Go to Settings > Sync, search for table and tap SYNC next to SYNC TABLE MAP FROM BACKEND. This pulls the current table map from Nomni Console.

  2. Already done that and it's still wrong? Clear the old copy on that iPad, then sync again:

    • In Settings > Sync, tap DELETE next to DELETE ALL TABLE MAPS STORED LOCALLY, then tap Delete to confirm. This only removes the copy on this iPad. Your table map in Nomni Console isn't deleted.

    • Tap SYNC next to SYNC TABLE MAP FROM BACKEND.

    • Do this between services, when nobody is using that iPad.

  3. Check every iPad is on the same Nomni POS version. Different versions can show tables differently. Update them all from the App Store after service.

  4. Tables showing as unknown, greyed out or already assigned? See Tables missing, duplicated or disappearing from the table map on Nomni POS.

Sales taken on a Slave are missing from end of day

1. Check the Slave for unsynced orders

When a sale is completed on a Slave, it's sent to the Master. If the Slave can't reach the Master, you'll see "Ensure Network Availablity on Master & Slave. Attempting to Sync". The order stays on the Slave as an unsynced order, and it's sent again automatically when the Slave reconnects.

  1. On the Slave, look for the unsynced orders icon in the top left. Reconnect the Slave to the Master, then tap the icon and tap Sync. See How do I sync Unsynced Orders?.

  2. If you close a register with unsynced orders, Nomni POS shows "You have … unsynced order(s)" and "Reports will not match if the orders are not synced." Sync them before you close.

  3. Don't use DELETE ALL ORDERS AND PRODUCTS FROM DATABASE to fix this. It deletes unsynced orders from the iPad, so those sales would be lost.

2. Check which register the Slave's sales go into

  • Setting A59 (Enable Consolidate Cash Register) is off: each iPad has its own register. A Slave's sales go into the Slave's register, not the Master's. Close the register on each iPad and check each register report.

  • A59 is on: Slave sales go into the Master's register. Close the register on the Master.

To check A59, go to Settings > System and search A59. If you change it, do it after every register is closed for the day. Then save it so the other iPads match: see POS Settings and Master Sync.

3. Re-send a register that didn't upload

If the figures in Nomni Console don't match the iPad, open the register report on the iPad that took the sales. Choose the register and tap SYNC. This sends that register to Nomni Console again.
