Quick answer: Go to Loyalty Marketing > Perks > Perks List and click Add New Perk. Pick a template or Start from Scratch. Fill in the Information tab, click Next, fill in the Eligibility tab, then click Save Perk.

Before you start

  • You're signed in to the Nomni Console with a login that can see Loyalty Marketing.

  • If your business uses head-office management (EMS), sign in to the head office (HQ) account. Sites under HQ see "Perks are managed by HQ when EMS is enabled" and can't create or edit perks.

Step 1: Choose a template or start from scratch

  1. In the Nomni Console (the Nomni POS back office), click Loyalty Marketing in the top bar, then go to Perks > Perks List.

  2. Click Add New Perk. You'll see "Start with a template or build from scratch".

  3. Click a template card, or click Start from Scratch to begin with an empty form.

  4. If you picked a template, a banner says "Using the [template] template — all fields are pre-filled. Review and adjust as needed." To choose a different one, click Change template.

  5. Work through the "Review before saving" checklist. Tick each item once you've checked it.

What each template sets up

Expiry dates are counted from the day you create the perk. Every value can be changed before you save.

  • Birthday Reward: 10% off a product you choose. The Birthday rule is set to the month you create the perk in, so it only reaches members whose birthday is in that month. It doesn't roll over to the next month. The perk expires in 12 months.

  • New Member Welcome (named "Welcome Gift"): $5 off the entire cart, Mobile App only. It has the rule Is New User = YES, a per-user expiry of 30 days, and the perk expires in 30 days.

  • Win-Back (Inactive) (named "We Miss You — Come Back!"): $10 off. It has the rule Order Inactive 90 days or more, a per-user expiry of 30 days, and the perk expires in 90 days.

  • Date Range Event (named "Special Event Offer"): 15% off on Mobile App, POS and Kiosk. It's Recurring and featured, with an Event Campaign rule running from today until the expiry date (7 days).

  • Milestone Reward (named "5th Visit Reward"): 20% off. It has the rule Order Count = 5, and the perk expires in 6 months.

  • Buy X Get Y Free: 50% off the lowest-priced product you choose. The minimum cart quantity is 2 and the discount min quantity is 2. The perk expires in 30 days, and the template opens a Product Count rule for you to finish.

  • Loyalty Tier Perk (named "Gold Member Exclusive"): 15% off with a $50 minimum spend. It's Recurring with a Monthly reset, has a Membership Level rule, and "Display perk when customer is ineligible" is turned on. The perk expires in 3 months.

Unless a template says otherwise, it's set up for Mobile App and POS. Start from Scratch selects no platforms.

Step 2: Fill in the Information tab

  1. Leave Active - perk is live on if you want the perk live as soon as you save it.

  2. Under Perk identity, enter a Name of up to 80 characters, for example "Birthday Free Scoop".

  3. Under Redemption platforms, click each place customers can use the perk: Mobile App, POS, Kiosk or Web. You need at least one.

  4. Optional: add a Description of up to 250 characters. Customers can see it in the app or in push notifications.

  5. Under Validity & expiry, set a Campaign start date if the perk shouldn't start straight away. Leave it blank to start as soon as you save.

  6. Set a Perk expiry date, or leave it blank for no expiry. After this date no customer can redeem the perk, regardless of when they first claimed it.

  7. Under Discount configuration, choose the discount type, value and target. See "Set up a perk discount: fixed or percentage, cap, target and price flag".

  8. Optional: under Creative, upload a Background image (JPG or PNG, max 500 KB, 811 x 900 px). You can also add a Detailed description, which appears on the perk detail screen in the customer app.

  9. Click Next.

Step 3: Fill in the Eligibility tab

  1. Under Spend threshold, enter a Min spend if customers must spend a minimum amount. Leave it blank for no minimum. If you see Minimum cart quantity, you can also set the minimum number of items in the cart.

  2. Tick Include variant pricing in Min Spend calculation if variant prices should count towards the minimum spend. When it's off, only base product prices count.

  3. Under Usage limits, choose Single use only or Recurring. See "Perk usage limits: single use, recurring, resets and per-customer limits".

  4. Under Targeting rules, click Add new rule if only some customers should get the perk. With no rules, the perk applies to all customers. See "Perk targeting rules: choose which customers can see and use a perk".

Step 4: Save

  1. Click Save Perk.

  2. If a field is missing or invalid, a message tells you what to fix, for example "Please select at least one redemption platform." Fix it and save again.

  3. The perk now appears in the Perks List. To change it later, click the edit icon next to it.

Optional settings

  • Show this as featured (Nomni Wallet only): highlights the perk in Nomni Wallet. Only one perk can be featured at a time, so turning this on replaces the current featured perk.

  • Display perk when customer is ineligible: customers who don't meet profile rules (age, birthday, customer tags, gender, new-user status or postcode) can still see the perk but can't redeem it.

These options only appear if your account supports them.
